CarLog (“the app”) is a private logbook for your vehicles — fuel, services, expenses, documents and reminders — published by Baron Mobile Games (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what choices you have. It applies to the CarLog Android application distributed through Google Play.
Everything you record stays on your phone. There is no account to create, no server to sync to, and no way for us to read your entries. The app works offline; the only thing it uses the internet for is showing advertisements, and our advertising provider collects some device data to deliver them. That is the only data collection involved, and it never includes anything you record in the app.
The app saves the following locally, in its own private storage:

This data is written to your device’s private app storage. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we have no way to read it. There is no account, no login and no cloud sync — apart from loading advertisements, the app works completely offline. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it permanently.
One thing sits outside the app: if you have turned on Android’s own device backup, Android may include the app’s data in the backup it keeps in your Google account, so that your logbook can be restored on a new phone. That backup is made and managed by Android and Google on your behalf; we cannot access it. You can turn device backup off in your phone’s backup settings.
You can attach a photo to a vehicle, receipt photos to a service, and photos or PDF files to a document. The app opens Android’s photo picker or file picker; only the items you choose are copied into the app’s private storage, and nothing else in your photo library or files is read. The copies stay on your phone, are never uploaded, and are deleted when you remove the attachment, delete the record, or uninstall the app. On Android 12 and older the app asks for storage permission before opening the photo library; on newer versions the picker needs no permission at all.
Your data leaves the app only when you send it somewhere yourself:
Each file goes only where you send it, and that destination’s own privacy practices apply to it. We never receive a copy. Files created for sharing are kept in the app’s private storage until Android clears them or you uninstall the app.
Reminders can notify you when something is due — an oil change, an inspection, an insurance renewal, a document expiring. On Android 13 and later your phone asks for permission to show notifications the first time you set a reminder (or ask to be reminded about a document) or turn notifications on in Settings — not when you install the app. If you do not allow it, reminders only show inside the app.
Notifications are scheduled locally on your phone. They are not push messages: nothing is sent from a server, and no one is told that a reminder fired or what you did with it. A notification names the vehicle and the reminder, and like any notification it may appear on your lock screen. Turning notifications off in Settings → Notifications cancels them.
Every record can be deleted individually, and a vehicle can be deleted with everything logged for it. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage from your device settings (Settings → Apps → CarLog → Storage → Clear data), removes everything, including attached photos and files and any export still in the cache.
Because we keep nothing anywhere else, that is a complete deletion — there is no copy on a server for us to remove, and nothing for you to request from us. Backups you created yourself, and a device backup you have turned on in Android, are in the places you put them.
CarLog is free and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdMob to display a banner at the bottom of the Timeline, and an occasional full-screen advertisement after you save a fuel, service or expense entry — never more than one for every three entries you save, and at least three minutes apart. Nothing in the app is locked behind an advertisement, and no advertisement is shown during setup or while you are entering data.
Nothing you record in the app is ever sent to our advertising provider or used to select an advertisement. The part of the app that requests advertisements has no access to your logbook.
To deliver and measure these advertisements, Google may collect and process:

This data is collected by Google, not by us. We only receive anonymous, aggregated reporting such as the total number of advertisements shown. Google’s handling of it is governed by its own policies:
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows a consent form the first time you open it, provided through Google’s User Messaging Platform. It asks whether Google and its advertising partners may store and access information on your device, such as the advertising ID, and use it for personalised advertising. You may refuse. If you refuse, you will still see advertisements, but they will not be personalised, and the app works exactly the same either way.
You can change your decision at any time from Settings → About → Ad privacy options. That option appears only where the consent form applies.
Everywhere in the world, you can limit advertising tracking through your device: Settings → Google → Ads (on some phones, Settings → Privacy → Ads), where you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation.

That is the complete list, read out of the release build rather than written from memory. The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or location, and it reads only the photos and files you pick.
There are none. The app contains no analytics library and no crash reporter, so we receive no usage statistics, no session data and no crash reports containing your information. What we can see is limited to the anonymous, aggregated figures Google Play and AdMob show every developer.
CarLog is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will address it.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or erase on request. To exercise rights relating to data collected for advertising — including access, erasure, or objection under the GDPR — please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy, which describes how to make such a request. You can delete all locally stored data at any time as described under Deleting your data above.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated date at the top. Significant changes affecting how data is handled will also be reflected in a new app release.
